Correction and Retraction Policy
Jurnal Masyarakat Merdeka (JMM) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of all published articles. The journal will take appropriate action if errors or ethical concerns are found in a published article.
1. Corrections
A correction may be published when an error is found in a published article but does not affect its main findings or conclusions. Examples include errors in author names, affiliations, funding information, data, figures, tables, descriptions of community service activities, or other relevant information.
Authors, readers, or other concerned parties may report errors to the editorial team. The editor will review the reported error and decide whether a correction is needed. If approved, the correction will be published and linked to the original article whenever possible.
2. Retractions
An article may be retracted when there is clear evidence that its content or findings are unreliable or that serious publication ethics violations have occurred. Reasons for retraction may include major errors, fabricated or falsified data, plagiarism, duplicate publication, false reporting of community service activities or results, unethical practices, or other serious violations of publication ethics.
Retraction may also be considered when the reported activities, data, or results cannot be verified and the concerns are serious enough to affect the reliability of the article.
The editor will make retraction decisions based on the available evidence. When necessary, the editor may consult the authors, reviewers, relevant experts, or the institutions involved.
3. Retraction Procedure
When a possible reason for retraction is identified, the editorial team will review the available evidence and may request an explanation from the authors or other relevant parties. The authors will be given a reasonable opportunity to respond before a final decision is made, whenever possible.
If retraction is necessary, JMM will publish a retraction notice explaining the reasons for the decision. The notice will be linked to the original article. Whenever possible, the original article will remain accessible and will be clearly marked as retracted to ensure transparency and prevent readers from relying on unreliable information.
4. Editorial Responsibility
All correction and retraction decisions will be handled fairly, carefully, and objectively in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies. The editorial team will consider the available evidence and the seriousness of the issue before taking action.
JMM reserves the right to publish corrections, retraction notices, or other appropriate editorial notices when necessary to maintain the accuracy, credibility, and integrity of its publications.
